Context

This part of the website offers four resources:

• Introductions to the two medieval cathedrals built at Salisbury, and their liturgy – useful to anyone who is not familiar with the development and layout of the two cathedrals or the liturgy which was adopted and adapted in them.
• Short introductions to the kinds of medieval church common in medieval England and Wales, and the liturgy conducted in them – intended for those who are beginning their exploration of these fields.
• A select list of further reading.
• An English glossary of terms frequently used in books of or about liturgy, many of which are also found in the texts of the Sarum Customary.
